Critical Resistance New York City has been contributing towards growing abolition in the north east. In February the chapter hosted a successful launch event for the latest edition of the Abolitionist newspaper, raising over $900! The event was held at our partner organization Families For Freedom and included speakers on the featured topic of the abolition of policing.
Coming up in the springtime – CR NYC will be contributing to a speak-out and rally at the Governor’s office demanding an immediate closure of Attica Prison. Stay tuned for more info about this action led by the Beyond Attica coalition. We also continue to host regular volunteer nights and are developing a website with interviews from people formerly imprisoned at Attica. Contact CR New York and get involved!
