Critical Resistance New York (CRNYC) has joined the Abolish ICE NY/NJ campaign Dignity not Detention, with the goal of ending ICE contracts with local jails in NY after a win this past year in NJ.

Support a lobby day  on May 4, 2022 to gain more sponsorship for the Dignity Not Detention Act!

Join us on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 as we travel to Albany (with an option to join meetings via online) to demand legislators to co-sponsor the New York Dignity Not Detention Act!

This legislation will end the state’s detention contracts with ICE, which currently enable ICE to use county jails to lock up immigrant New Yorkers. By shrinking the footprint of detention facilities in the state, the Dignity Not Detention Act will end the practice of profiting from inhumane detention in New York State, and help protect immigrants from separation from their families and communities.

No experience with lobbying is necessary. Free lunch and transportation to Albany will be provided.

• 1:30pm — Lunch will be provided
• 2:30pm — 3:30pm — Attend Scheduled Meetings and Drop-Ins around the LOB Capitol
• 4:00pm — Bus back to NYC (33rd street and 7th avenue)
