On March 2, 2023, Californians United for a Responsible Budget (CURB) mobilized over a dozen speakers to give public comment at an impromptu state senate hearing on prison closure that we were only notified about hours before.
Join Critical Resistance and CURB again this week (March 6), as we mobilize to another hearing – this time for the state Assembly Sub5 Committee to urge Governor Newsom, Assembly Sub 5 Committee Chair Mia Bonta, and committee members to support a comprehensive roadmap for at least 7 more prison closures as part of the 2023-24 state budget process.
