“From Sunday until this morning (Thursday), we were on lockdown. Due to an uptick in COVID19 cases among staff and prisoners, the prison went through a “deep cleaning” period. What this means, I don’t know. But effective today, we will be out of our cells 45 minutes one day and 90 minutes the following. This is called phase 3. For how long? We don’t know. But the frustrating part is that the people responsible for bringing the virus inside, guards and staff, are no more concerned than they were before the lockdown. They continue to disregard the mandatory mask wearing while here. They continue to not supply cleaning supplies. So how safe can we really be?”

–From a prisoner in Pennsylvania.
