Stop Cop City – Statement of Solidarity by Critical Resistance, June 2023

Critical Resistance (CR) members drafted the following statement of solidarity with Atlanta protestors resisting the developing of “Cop City,” a $90 million, 350-acre police training & militarization facility that would destroy the Weelaunee Forest, known as the “lungs of Atlanta,” and expand the capacity of police departments globally to terrorize our communities around the world. CR delivered this statement to City Council on Tuesday, June 5, as part of a mobilization by over 400 speakers at City Hall.
