The Building Beyond Policing network spotlights successful abolitionist campaigns against policing to delve into how the campaigns were won and to share lessons and offerings to abolitionist organizers through a zine series called “How We Did That.” Critical Resistance members contributed to the Fall 2024 edition of “How We Did That,” sharing lessons learned from our campaign victory with the Stop Urban Shield campaign to end the world’s largest SWAT training and weapons expo that was hosted in Alameda County in California from 2007-2018 until we defunded it.
