Thank you so much to everyone who supported CR’s annual 2022 Prisoner Solidarity Postcard Writing Events! Together and with the help of nearly 200 volunteers, we sent personalized notes of strength and solidarity to thousands of imprisoned folks across the US to let them know we are thinking of them, and are still out here fighting alongside them for prison industrial complex (PIC) abolition. We couldn’t have done it without you!

If you missed the registration deadline this year, we are so sorry we missed you and invite you to join us next year!

Check out our event highlights below, and please make sure to subscribe to our listservs to receive future updates, volunteer opportunities, events and other ways to plug in to CR prisoner solidarity work!

  • CR Portland (CRPDX) held an in-person Postcard Writing Event at Worker’s Tap in Portland with 30 volunteers who came through to write letters to imprisoned comrades in Texas and North Carolina, while sharing food and building relationships with volunteers to show up in solidarity with folks inside across the US. Thank you to all of the volunteers who showed up in-person and engaged from home, and a special thank you to Worker’s Tap for opening the space to CR events!

  • CR Los Angeles (CRLA) held an online Postcard Writing Event with 10 new volunteers, sharing music and ways for new folks to support the efforts of the growing chapter, while building and strengthening relationships with folks imprisoned in different regions across the country.
