Recently the LA Board of Supervisors released the final Environmental Impact Report concerning the construction of a “Consolidated Correctional Treatment Facility,” a new jail in LA. We at CR oppose this construction and any construction that builds cages instead of communities. Read more about our opposition to the EIR in this letter signed by 30 Los Angeles organizations. Jails are not only environmentally toxic, jails are toxic to communities, particularly Black, immigrant, and people of color communities that are targeted by policing and jailing.

The vote on the EIR by the Board of Supervisors will happen on Tuesday June 19th and is one of the last decision making points in their $3.7 billion jail construction plan. We are asking our supporters to call and email your opposition to this new jail. Call in info is available here. It is urgent that we make calls to stop jail construction in LA County.

Use the webform below to email LA County Supervisors. Please add personal information and impact.
