CR is excited to introduce you to our new CR Oakland Prisoner Correspondence intern, Anastasia Franco! Anastasia started in her role on July 19th and we know that her commitment to PIC abolition, organizing and paralegal experience, and skills in data and systems management will add so much value to our prisoner correspondence programs and CR’s work more broadly. See below for Anastasia’s bio.
Anastasia Franco Bio:
“I am really excited to have joined the staff of CR’ this July, in order to help support their work both locally and nationally. I have been connected with abolitionist work through my involvement with Flying Over Walls – SF Bay Area Black and Pink, TGI Justice Project, and the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights. As a formerly incarcerated person, I take honor in contributing to CR’s continual fight to work towards the abolition of the prison industrial complex, staying rooted in the experiences and wisdom of the currently and formerly incarcerated.
In Solidarity,
Anastasia Franco (She/Her/Hers)”
