Dear Los Angeles comrades,

Critical Resistance’s Los Angeles chapter (CRLA) has been hard at work getting reorganized and plugging in more to the statewide campaign for prison closure with Californians United for a Responsible Budget (CURB). Since a chapter work-planning retreat in July, we’ve directed our energies into laying the groundwork for the upcoming launch of CRLA’s prisoner mail program with monthly volunteer nights and have helped establish and continue to co-lead coordination of CURB’s Close CA Prisons outreach to families of imprisoned loved ones at the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) in Norco. We’ve been supported by an amazing group of volunteers from the Prison Abolitionist Collective at Scripps College, and now we’re asking for your help to keep our weekly visits to CRC Norco going.

Feel free to share these events with your networks far and wide! If you have any questions about our chapter’s work or these events, please email crla@criticalresistance.org.

Hope to see you on 10/10, outside CRC in Norco, or at one of our volunteer nights soon!

In struggle,

-CRLA
